Campbellville is located on the Niagara Escarpment, which stretches 725 kilometres across much of Ontario and several US states. A UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, the Escarpment is of course most famous for the cliff at Niagara Falls. Generally, The Escarpment is defined by its many streams, wetlands, rolling hills, waterfalls, significant wildlife habitats, and historic villages and pretty towns. The Bruce Trail, a footpath which extends along the Escarpment from Niagara to Tobermory, has several access points in the Conservation areas near Campbellville. |
While hiking, cycling, rock climbing, horseback riding and racing are among the most common outdoor activities for which visitors come to Campbellville, the area offers a wealth of experiences. There are farmer's markets, art and cultural events, agricultural and history museums.
As well, Campbellville's location with easy access to the region's major highways and cities has caused a number of mid-sized businesses (light manufacturing, environmental, communications) to locate here, making for an interesting mix of old and new, traditional and progressive.
